About Me

I grew up in Israel and moved to the U.S. in 1998. Raising my daughter here has taught me some of the most profound lessons of my life. I learned what the lack of joyful learning looks like and what behaviors a miserable child in the classroom might express. I learned about giftedness, twice-exceptionality, and the impact of diagnoses in securing necessary support and nurturing self-acceptance and self-advocacy. I learned about diversity in education, the hidden treasures in homeschooling, early college, and finding the right teachers who make an incredible and positive impact. I learned about gender identity and the path of happiness, authenticity, community, and love that every person has the right to pursue.

I’m so excited to start 1st grade

I have always loved the field of education and have been drawn to it time and time again. I have a master’s degree in Human Development with an emphasis in Leadership in Education from Pacific Oaks College and a certification in Educational Therapy from UCSC. I am a proud member of the Association of Educational Therapists at a professional level of ET/P.  I have studied notable curricula such as Orton Gillingham, the Wilson Reading System, Singapore Math, Making Math Real, Brain Frames, Framing Your Thought, NVC, and many more.
As a lifelong learner, I continue to take classes, workshops, trainings, courses, and webinars. I attend educational conferences and multiple study groups. I am keeping up-to-date with the research and have many tools to share with my students. I love learning something new from each of my students and their families.

Looking forward to the next chapter, after grad school

Even before I became an educational therapist, I spent years mentoring and supporting families curious about homeschooling. I remain active in the homeschooling, gifted, and twice-exceptional communities. I feel fortunate to live in an area with so many excellent options for our children’s education.

Nowadays, as a member of the AET, I volunteer as a mentor to incoming educational therapists and serve on the webinar committee as we create continuing education webinars for other educational therapists and members of the association.

I love witnessing kids’ experiences of learning, reading, and doing math change from a source of anxiety and self-doubt to a place of confidence, empowerment, and celebration. I hope I can ignite their drive to learn, know, and explore.
