Sharon worked with our 9 year old son. She has been very patient and organized in understanding his educational needs.  My son loved and looked forward to her classes. She made learning fun for him by using different games to focus on different aspects of his learning. She broke the writing assignment into pieces that were easier for him to work on. She became a teacher and friend to my son. He would talk to her about his school, his likes and dislikes, he enjoyed every moment of being with her. We absolutely and unconditionally recommend her and are thankful and grateful for her constant support. Be it about the knowledge of the school system, class recommendations, or summer camps, she has helped us with all.

Sharon has been amazing for our 5-year-old twins from an academic and emotional development standpoint. Before we started working with Sharon, our daughter was starting to say she was bad at numbers and struggling with confidence. Sharon worked with her and built her confidence with positive affirmations, which helped her see her talent for conceptualizing numbers. The girls look forward to their sessions as she uses games and fun activities to teach. We’ve never had to force them to participate. I appreciate that she didn’t focus on drills for memorizing numbers or letters but instead worked on the underlying skills needed to support those areas. She is obviously hugely knowledgeable and knows multiple methods for teaching any subject.

 Sharon is a dynamic, intelligent, patient, and insightful teacher. She is knowledgeable in her field and communicates her expertise very well.

Sharon has worked with our daughter for the last three years with Dyslexia and ADHD. Sharon knew when to “push” our daughter to get more out of her and when to “back off.” She kept our daughter on task and focused, motivated her as a learner, and made sure to make the best use of their time together. This was not an easy task. Sharon has the right mix of knowledge, people skills, and real-world application and advice. She has been a great source of support for our daughter and our family. She helped me better understand the public school support and how to support and promote my daughter’s learning progress.

My child – age 10 – came to Sharon with advanced avoidance and task refusal due to high anxiety and difficulty with learning differences. Sharon approached him openly, honestly, authentically and masterfully (and continues to do this in each session – the work is never done!) to secure his buy-in, commitment and belief that the tasks she is presenting him are achievable. The saying, “Simple, but not easy…” comes to mind. Teachers and therapists almost always stress that their work is relation with your child, but it is so very difficult not to engage, consciously or subconsciously, in a power struggle over tasks and outcomes. Sharon seems to have made it her mission to be the teacher to break this cycle for her students, giving them the opportunity, maybe for the first time, to enjoy their learning journey.

Her collaborative approach has helped me with many options in challenging educational situations. Sharon is a compassionate and thoughtful mentor and one of the most generous people I know.

I hired Sharon when we discovered that my 8th grader was two grades behind in math.  He struggles with his memory and math comprehension.  Sharon has been working closely with him for a year now, helping to increase his understanding and foundation in math.  She is profoundly patient and caring.  My son enjoys working with her and has grown more confident.  

Over the past year, we have gone through some large personal tragedies and challenges.  Sharon’s compassion and willingness to support us through those times has endeared her to us even more.  She has gone above and beyond and become a friend through it all.
